CBS Channel 4 in Denver picked up a barter related story spotlighting barter industry new-comer U-Exchange. U-Exchange.com is a currency-less barter classified system, which pairs buyers and sellers in barter transactions. While not a particularly novel idea (Craigslist has been doing this for years), U-Exchange has been able to claim 1 Million page views per month with a current member list of 66,000. U-Exchange is an ad driven site, so customers are charged nothing to post something for trade. For a link to the video go to: http://cbs4denver.com/local/bartering.trade.u.2.1298939.html

A quick search of the site in my local area brought up a woman who wants to trade house cleaning and babysitting services, a man with 55 acres of land to trade near a vacation/ski destination, and a man who owns a hair salon who has a vacation home near Jackson Hole, Wyoming, that wants to do more vacation trades. It seems this could be a good resource for barter exchanges. U-Exchange clients who want to do more trades long term could benefit from membership in a traditional barter exchange.
