Time Trade Circle Featured on Wicked Local.com

Time Trade Circle, a Cambridge based time swapping service, was featured in an article on wickedlocal.com this week. According to the article:

The system works differently from traditional bartering in which services are directly exchanged one-on-one. With Time Trade Circle, a snow shoveler can, for example, put in two hours for a computer programmer. The computer programmer, then, can barter the two hours received for cooking lessons with yet another member of the circle. “It’s a giant pool of services,” Moses said. Some recent trades have involved acupuncture, help with a household budget, installing a TV box, yoga instruction, Web site building, and transportation to the airport. Nights at a Cambridge bed and breakfast and at a vacation home in western Massachusetts have also been bartered.
The organization maintains two Web sites – “www.timetradecircle.org” is a public site which provides information about the group, while “www.community.timebanks.org” is a database of member profiles that only active members can access.
