After sifting through about a dozen new videos uploaded to YouTube in the past week, only one of them stood out as an example of classy, well crafted video. It’s this video from BizX. I’ve admired BizX’s video production for a while, and if you read this blog very often, you know that it is true. Then I thought a bit more about it as I was watching this video, because they really haven’t done anything revolutionary in the world of video or presentation, they just use basic production principles to make an interesting video.
In an attempt to assist the barter industry in their preparation of video, here is the basic list of what a video should have in order to be interesting:
- Be short and sweet and to the point. No one likes a long video of a talking head.
- Don’t have the whole video be someone sitting in a chair talking.
- Add some footage of real work being done OVER top of the video of the person talking in the chair. (It breaks up the sequence, offers interesting eye candy while the ears still focus on the words being said.)
- Add your logo to the beginning on a tile.
That’s it. It’s not rocket science, but BizX continually does a good job with their video. And so can you. Check it out.
