ACS Autobody Body ShopLaunches New Location via Barter

When ACS Autobody recently opened their new location in Lansdowne, PA, the company chose to launch their new shop entirely through barter agreements made with local businesses and individuals in the area. This choice to turn to their new community for assistance helped ACS Autobody keep costs down when finishing their new building’s modifications and allowed them to make personal connections with businesses across the Lansdowne community from day one.

In order to create the new shop in Lansdowne, the auto body repair professionals at ACS Autobody did a variety of work for local businesses’ trucks, personal vehicles, and the vehicles of friends and family. In exchange, ACS Autobody was able to get professional assistance with building changes and finishing touches at their new location. This included projects such as:

-Electrical work
-Plumbing and heating
-Cement
-Trash removal
-Rental equipment (lifts)
-Signage
-Excavation work on the grounds
-Gas pipes and air lines
-Pressure washing

This mutually beneficial arrangement between ACS Autobody and the other businesses in Lansdowne has allowed ACS to get their newly relocated shop up and running without expending extra money and has also allowed the company to become quickly integrated into the Lansdowne business scene.

ACS Autobody President Bill DiMeo says, “It was an extremely inspiring experience to be able to barter with all these local companies. The entire town of Lansdowne has been very helpful, and extremely welcoming.” DiMeo cites the mutual trust that Lansdowne businesses have in each other as one of the most positive aspects of the barter experience.
