Hewitt MN Hosts Barter Fest

People from around the region and beyond were invited to this fourth year of Barter Fest; which was held in the heart of Hewitt on Saturday, September 21, 2013. This year Barter Fest featured an open exchange of produce, arts, goods and services. Attendees were asked to be open to bartering for their desired items, although dollars were exchangeable as well.

Barter Fest was inspired by early settlers to Hewitt who created community with access to very little paper currency. The founding fathers and mothers of rural Minnesota traded their hard work, talents and know how, while building relationships and reliance on one another. This event aims to rekindle community resilience on a regional scale.
