In what seems to be the first crypto currency backed by a tangible asset, Maple Coin announced recently that they are going to supply, to anyone who wishes to “cash out”, a fixed unit of pure maple syrup.
In an effort to more deeply illustrate the point of MapleCoin, we have
decided to truly and directly back MapleCoin with an internationally
recognized Reserve asset, Maple Syrup. Maple Syrup is all natural and
renewable, unlike the oil backing the current fiat dollar of Canada. We
would like to show that there is a better path to wealth than strip mining
an entire Province.Thus we have created this MapleCoin National Syrup Reserve and set a
permanent fixed exchange rate of one MapleCoin to one milliliter of Maple
Syrup. Our Reserve is modeled on and located in the same city as the world
famous International Strategic Maple Syrup Reserve, and we have direct
physical access to that facility to ensure liquidity in our own small
Reserve - due to start at 50 liters. We will deal in only the finest grade
Federation Syrup.
The units available for purchase will include 50 ML Ampules, 150 ML Amphora, and 540 ML Cans. All syrup will be certified organic. The group will be accepting other crypto currencies for shipping and handling if desired. The fixed rate for cashing out is one Maple Coin per 1ML of maple syrup.
